Dr. Kevin Allred
Dentist
Dr. Allred grew up in a small community in Utah building Jeeps and raising birds. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California, and after he returned home he finished his studies in biomedical engineering at the University of Utah. Dr. Allred developed an interest in dentistry after his cousin and brother went to dental school and he felt like it would be a great career to make a difference in people’s health. Dr. Allred attended Virginia Commonwealth University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree in 2012. Dr. Allred has always enjoyed getting to know his patients on a personal level, from talking about gardening to cars and everything in between, each patient is truly important to him.
Before graduation, Dr. Allred and his wife Samantha fell in love with the beauty of southwest Virginia and moved to Big Stone Gap immediately after graduation in 2012. The Allred family has made Big Stone Gap their permanent home, where they now have four children and they stay busy with sports, gardening and traveling.
Dr. Allred has also embarked on his own health journey, where he lost over 100 pounds and now runs daily. Dr. Allred has poured his heart into making Powell Valley Dental the most comfortable, friendly and up-to-date practice in the area while giving back to the community as often as possible.
