Dr. Bethany Macintosh
Dentist
Dr. Bethany MacIntosh earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Cebu Doctors’ University in the Philippines in 2015. Shortly after passing her licensure exams, she began her career with a nonprofit organization, providing free dental care to school children. Her passion for service and education led her back to the U.S., where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2018.
Following her residency, Dr. MacIntosh worked full time as a general dentist in Hampton Roads, Virginia, before embracing the flexibility and adventure of travel dentistry. As a locum tenens dentist, she worked in various practices across the country, taking time to explore new places between assignments. Her final locum position brought her to Big Stone Gap and Powell Valley Dental—where she quickly felt at home and decided to join the team permanently.
Now settled in the area, Dr. MacIntosh enjoys life with her boyfriend, Taylor, and their rescue pup, Penny. Outside the office, she loves yoga, hiking, traveling, and scuba diving, and has recently taken up gardening and home improvement projects as she puts down roots in her new community.
